Bill Bissett

Bill Bissett

Landscape Architect, ASLA and Co-owner, The Natives, a native nursery and landscape restoration firm

During the 33 years as the principle landscape architect in his own firm, Bill has been instrumental in the innovation of many techniques and use of materials that have changed the face of environmentally acceptable landscaping in Central Florida. He has initiated the use of several native plant species that have become standard material for large scale developers such as the Disney Company and the Florida Department of Transportation. He has stressed the necessity of environmentally functional landscapes over the purely decorative but non-functional landscapes in institutional commercial and residential work. This philosophy and the reputation that has come with accomplishing successful design projects for IMC-Agrico, Mobil, Audubon Society, and Bok Tower Gardens have been acknowledged by several state awards.
