Brightman Logan

Biologist, Former Grower and Landscape Contractor
31 years of experience with native plants & landscapes
Founding member of FANN
President and founder of Central Florida Native Flora and All Native Flora LLC

Brightman began his career as an environmental scientist and early on recognized the potential for native plants in the landscape. In 1981, he founded Central Florida Native Flora to supply plants for habitat restoration projects throughout the Southeastern U.S., including scrub, high pine, flatwoods, forested wetlands, marshes and lakes. Convinced of both environmental and ornamental benefits of native plants, he subsequently started a landscape division to grow landscape quality natives and provide xeriscape and habitat design services for commercial and residential customers. In 2005, CFNF formed All Native LLC, which specialized in landscape quality containerized native plants in a variety of sizes. All Native partnered with Agri-Starts to introduce several new native selections to the trade. Brightman has received numerous awards for his native planting projects and for many years has given lectures and workshops to a variety of public agencies and professional industry organizations. Brightman has served on the board of the Florida Wildflower Foundation, is past President of the Florida Association of Native Nurseries, and has served in numerous other industry and conservation organizations. He has a B.S. in Biology from Mercer University. Retired from growing, Brightman continues as a mentor and educator in the native plant industry. His last nursery, All Native (closed in October 2012), was one of the largest, most highly experienced and respected native nurseries in the state and has been a Florida Board of Landscape Architecture licensed provider of continuing education for landscape architects for many years.
