Paul is a rare breed of landscape professional with considerable practical applied science knowledge in native plants, plant ecology and Florida ecosystems, particularly upland plant communities. He manages all of The Natives restoration projects from site preparation through installation and maintenance. Paul frequently designs but also assembles, calibrates and operates herbicide equipment and has an herbicide application certification from FDACS for natural areas, aquatics, rights of way, and commercial landscape maintenance. He is an expert in the effective use of herbicides including application rates for native landscape restoration and maintenance. He manages and reconfigures seed harvesters and seeding equipment. Through many years of experience with a variety of disturbed landscapes needing restoration, Paul has addressed challenges such as heavy cover Torpedograss and Bermudagrasses and heavy weed seedbanks. On some sites, he installs temporary irrigation systems to aid native seed germination and to establish containerized plants. He has managed the installation of commercial and residential landscapes that include seeding, planting, maintenance and hardscape construction. He has an AA degree in Horticulture from Valencia College.
