Dr. Gezon is an ecologist and evolutionary biologist with a research and education background in conservation biology, community ecology and pollination. In his current position with the Walt Disney Company, he creates butterfly habitats around the world and engages familes with nature. Gezon is very excited about using citizen science projects to generate data and create pollinator habitats. Prior to working at Disney, he was a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the laboratory of Dr. Jaret Daniels, University of Florida McGuire Center for Lepidoptera and Biodiversity at the Florida Museum of Natural History, where he developed a long-term adaptive management plan for butterfly conservaton in California and Florida. He has also had assignments with The Nature Conservancy, Monteverde Butterfly Garden in Costa Rica, The New England Aquarium and SeaWorld. Gezon has published several scientific papers as well as popular science articles, and is a member of the American Alliance of Museums, Association of Zoos and Aquariums, Ecological Society of America and the Entomological Society of America. Gezon has seven years of award-winning college teaching experience and routinely presents outreach programs for the public, including adults and children, as well as programs and workshops for industry professionals. He has a Ph.D. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Dartmouth College.
