Florida is home to hundreds of native tree species, but only a small number are routinely used in landscapes. For ecological and aesthetic reasons, and for more resilient landscapes, more different native tree species can and should be considered than is currently the case.
This session will showcase some of the best — not commonly used but definitely available and adaptable — native trees for central and south Florida landscape use. The instructor will discuss attributes that should be considered in making tree selections and describe in detail several great underused trees.
