Native Landscapes in a Managed Residential Community

Classroom A

Learn how residents in a gated, deed restricted community have developed successful native landscape designs, obtained approval, and installed and maintained yards with native plants and no or minimal turf. Get the insights and inspiration you need to successfully implement residential native landscape projects in managed communities.

This course provides a visual tour of new and maturing residential native plant landscapes in managed communities in The Villages, Florida. The presentation will feature both aerial and ground-level imagery to demonstrate the before and after stages of multiple landscape transformations.

The instructor will share the challenges and successful strategies for working in managed communities with demanding aesthetic standards for controlled, orderly, “neat and tidy” landscapes.
