Kody is all about design excellence: he has a knack for envisioning how to transform an existing space into something special and applying impeccable design to bring that vision to fruition. Kody’s built work includes Starkey Ranch, a 2,500-acre master-planned community in Odessa, FL that has earned awards for its exemplary system of public realm spaces which serve to celebrate and bring awareness to the native Florida landscape. Kody has led the Starkey design team in providing and maintaining the overall community vision, as well as detailed design for the trails, parks and amenities. Kody was in charge of developing a campus master plan for Cherrylake in Groveland, Florida, that maximizes land holdings to improve their plant nursery operations while also creating a better active environment for employees and a community asset that is accessible to the public. Kody’s portfolio also includes Lake Nona, a large-scale master-planned community in Orlando, with a system of parks and trails that connect residents and surrounding communities to a shared town center and medical campus. A Midwesterner by background and demeanor (and with a degree from Purdue University), Kody’s quiet confidence positions him naturally for project leadership. Above all, Kody brings to his work an intense respect for the environment, for culture, and for quality of life for all people. A registered landscape architect in the State of Florida, Kody has lived and practiced in Central Florida since 2008.
